ONE CLUB CREATIVE HALL OF FAME

On Tuesday night, a number of TBWA people attended the One Club Creative Hall of Fame induction, where Steve Jobs, Joe Pytka, Paula Green and Robert Lawton were all honored. Entry into the One Club’s Hall of Fame is the most prestigious award for creatives in our industry. Only 49 people have ever been inducted into the Hall of Fame before, since it began in 1961. Bill Bernbach, David Ogilvy, Leo Burnett, Hal Riney, Jay Chiat, Lee Clow, TBWA’s Chief Creative Officer and one of Steve Jobs best friends. Some years, no one is inducted. You have to be that great. You have to be a game-changer. No one changed more games than Steve Jobs.

Steve’s honor goes one step further – he is the first client marketer to ever be included in the Hall of Fame. He was recognized for “a lifetime of contributions to design, branding and communications.” He pushed the boundaries and thought differently. To quote Lee, “He was in fact the most demanding, the most challenging, the most intense, the most involved client the agency ever had.”

You would all have been so proud to be a part of TBWA and proud of our history with Apple had you been at the event on Tuesday. Lee gave an incredible, heartfelt speech that recounted his amazing relationship with Steve and the work that we created with him for Apple. I strongly encourage you to watch the video from the event at the link below. It was a wonderful tribute to Steve and to the TBWA\MAL team who worked with him for all these years to create such standout, industry-changing work.
